Logistics
      The workshop will convene in Room E-243 in the Queens College Science Building. Enter through the main gate on Kissena Blvd and inform the guard that you are going to the "Climate Research Workshop." The guard will provide parking instructions. If you have problems, Peter Schmidt's cell number is 516-510-4451.
      You should dress very casually and be prepared to work both outside (in a large lawn area in front of the Science Building and possibly on the roof of the Science Building) and in a chilly air conditioned room. Breakfast and lunch will be set up near the classroom/lab.
      For project staff and participants from outside the NYC metro area, on-campus housing (in a new dormitory) will be available and will be paid by the project.

Traveling to Queens College

1. By automobile
From the west: Long Island Expressway to Exit 24 (Kissena Boulevard). Stay in right lane of service road after exit ramp and turn right at first light onto Kissena Boulevard. Make first right turn (135°) through gate onto campus. Follow signs to guard who will tell you where to park.
From eastern Queens, Long Island: Long Island Expressway to Exit 24 (Kissena Boulevard). Stay in left lane of service road after exit ramp. Turn left onto Kissena Boulevard, cross Long Island Expressway, and follow instructions above.
From northern Manhattan and the Bronx: Whitestone Bridge to Queens. Stay in two right lanes as you come off the bridge. At fork in highway, follow signs for “Whitestone Expressway NYC Airports”. Get into second lane from the left after the fork and follow signs for JF Kennedy Airport at next fork (bearing left). Take first exit for Long Island Expressway Eastbound. Turn right at traffic light and after a few blocks, turn left, following signs for Long Island Expressway Eastbound. Stay in service road and make right turn at Kissena Boulevard. Make first right turn (135°) onto campus.
From southern Brooklyn, Staten Island: Belt Parkway to Van Wyck Expressway North. Van Wyck Expressway to Whitestone Expressway. Take exit for Long Island Expressway Eastbound. Turn right onto LIE Service Road following signs to LIE Eastbound, and follow directions immediately above.

2. By public transportation
Subway:
Option 1: Take E, F, or V train to 71st Street and Continental Avenue. Take Q65 to 150th Street and Jewel Avenue. Cross Jewel Avenue and walk north on 150th Street for one long, curving block. 150th Street ends at Melbourne Avenue; cross Melbourne Avenue and enter campus. Science Building is the first building on the left.
Option 2a: Take #7 to last stop (Main Street, Flushing). Take Q25 or 34 to Queens College main gate (Bus Driver will help). Walk across campus to Science Building (see map).
Option 2b: Take #7 to last stop (Main Street, Flushing). Take Q44 or Q20 to Melbourne Avenue. Walk east on Melbourne Avenue to 150th Street gate. Enter College

The main entrance is at the bottom of the map. The Science Building is in the upper left-hand corner, right above "Gate 2."
