and e-mailed or mailed to David Brooks at the same address. Institutional purchase orders are acceptable. IESRE does not accept credit cards. Payment can be made by check, money order, or PayPal to brooksdr@instesre.org. (Although we are not allowed to require payment of a PayPal transaction charge, we would appreciate it if you can add 3% or a minimum of $1.50 to your order total to cover our PayPal processing charges.) Sun photometers measure aerosol optical thickness at green and red wavelengths, as described in the GLOBE Aerosol Protocol. Pyranometers measure broadband solar energy reaching Earth's surface (insolation). Assembled kits must be calibrated against a reliable reference. Reflectometers are used to measure surface reflectivity. When used in pairs (one up-facing and the other down-facing) one instrument needs to be calibrated relative to the other.

Item Unit Price How many?

Item 1.Two-channel sun photometer $140

This calibrated two channel instrument (505 nm and 625 nm) includes:

a. a built-in digital panel meter (does not require an external voltmeter),

b. a built-in sensor that monitors air temperature near the LED

detectors,

c. a rotary channel-select switch for monitoring the green or red channel, or the temperature,

d. a 3.5mm output jack for external monitoring of the instrument output,

e. aligned and calibrated, ready for use.

Item 2. Kit of parts for two-channel sun photometer

$80

$25, ($24 each, 5-9 kits;

$23 each, 10 or more kits)

including shipping in

U.S.

When assembled, this instrument is equivalent to Item 1. However, it must be calibrated, either by returning it to IESRE (contact IESRE for more information) or by comparing calculated AOT values against a reliable reference, adjusted for wavelength. Construction details are available on the Web here.

Item 3.Pyranometer kit

This kit must be calibrated after assembly. Two pyranometers can be used as a broadband reflectometer -- one pyranometer must be calibrated relatively to the other, but no absolute radiometric calibration is

required.

Item 3a. Calibration for assembled pyranometer kit

Item 4. Assembled and calibrated pyranometer

$40, including return shipping in U.S.

Assembled pyranometers are calibrated against a Kipp & Zonen SP-Lite pyranometer.

Item 5. bare cable for pyranometer, kit or assembled

no charge

The standard cable provided with the kit or assembled pyranometer is about 5' long and is terminated with a 2.5-mm stereo plug for input to an Onset Computer Corporation USB data logger. If you are using a different kind of logger, you can request a 2-m long cable with no plug.

Item 6. Two-channel reflectometer, kit $35 including shipping in U.S.

This instrument uses the same silicon photodetector as the pyranometer, plus a physically identical detector that responds only to the near-IR. For use as a reflectometer, with sequential upward- and downward-facing measurements, no calibration is required. Used in pairs (see Item 7), the channels of one instrument must be calibrated relative to the other instrument, but no absoluate radiometric calibration is required. It is possible to add a low-pass filter to the broadband detector housing, which

makes it possible to separate visible and near-IR reflectivity contact IESRE for more information.

Item 6a. Two-channel reflectometer, assembled and tested

$75 including shipping in U.S.

For use as a reflectometer, with sequential upward- and downward-facing measurements, no calibration is required

Item 6b. Absolute radiometric calibration of broadband detector

$25

Calibrated against a Kipp & Zonen SP-Lite pyranometer. Allows use of the upward-facing broadband detector as a calibrated pyranometer.

Item 7. Two-channel reflectometer, 2 kits

$70 including shipping in

U.S.

For use as a reflectometer with simultaneous upward- and downward-facing measurements, no absolute radiometric calibration is required.

Item 7a.Two two-channel

reflectometers, assembled and tested with relative calibration of upward- and downward-facing detectors

No absolute calibrations are provided.

Item 7b. Absolute radiometric calibration of one (upward-facing) broadband detector

$150 including shipping

in U.S.

$25

Calibrated against a Kipp & Zonen SP-Lite pyranometer. Allows use of the upward-facing broadband detector as a calibrated pyranometer.

Item 7c. Two bare cables for reflectometer, kit or assembled

no charge

The standard cables provided with the kit or assembled reflectometer are about 5' long and are terminated with 2.5-mm stereo plugs for input to an Onset Computer Corporation USB data logger. If you are using a different kind of logger, you can request a 2-m long two- conductor (plus ground) cable with no plugs.

SHIPPING & HANDLING (no charge for pyranometers or

reflectometers, kit or assembled)

$15.00 for up to 3 items to U.S. addresses. Please contact me about shipping information for larger orders or for orders to non-U.S. addresses.
